Anesthesiology Service

The VID Cardio Clinic offers this service with qualified support ANESCAR SA, a company of cardiovascular anesthesiologists for more than 30 years provides ongoing service and quality to our Institution. The service consists of 7 Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists, those working in 4 basic areas: management of patients with congenital heart defects and perinatal support; managing adult patients with valve disease and coronary heart disease; management of patients for chest surgery and peripheral vascular and cardiac transplant group and pulmonary.

It also provides support for other services as are: electrophysiology, interventional neuroradiology, DX radiology and hemodynamic.

ANESCAR S.A. has formed a teaching team, for the formation of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists in partnership with Cardio Clinic VID and the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and participate in training processes for general anesthesiologists. This makes ANESCAR S.A. actively participate in the development of programs and research projects related to each of the areas mentioned above. We have a clinic of acute postoperative pain to provide a better and more personalized care to surgical patients post.

Anesthesiology service outpatient Guide
  1. On his intervention must reach the VID Cardio Clinic and presented at the office of surgery at the assigned time.

  3. Seven days before the date scheduled for surgery, should not take medicines that contain aspirin, how come: Aspirin, Alkaseltzer, Dristan, Sorasich, etc.
  4. Seven days prior to your surgery should not take anti-inflammatory drugs such as: Motrin, Advil, Feldene, Ibuprofen, Ponstan, Voltarene, etc.
  5. Where possible, fifteen days before surgery should not smoke.

  8. If for some reason you can not be operated, please advise as soon as possible to your doctor to cancel the turn of surgery. Remember that other patients are waiting.
  9. The day of surgery must bring unpainted nails and do not use makeup. Leave jewelry and valuables at home. The Cardio Clinic VID is not responsible for their loss.

  11. The day of surgery should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. If you are being hospitalized, should bring pajamas and toiletries.

  13. The day before your surgery can eat three (3) meals. The last meal should be before 10:00 p.m. This should not be abundant.
  14. The day of surgery should not consume any food or liquids solids. If your surgery is going to be after midnight (12) the day can eat a light meal at six (6) am, how come: water juice, crackers or egg. Do not eat dairy.
  15. A pre-anesthetic consultation and the day of surgery to bring the results of the tests ordered by your physician previously.

Post surgical instructions
  1. After performing your surgery you will go to the recovery room. His stay in this room depends on the type of operation performed and anesthesia recovery. Each patient is an individual case.
  2. His family and companions will be notified when recovery is complete for canceling outstanding accounts and can be discharged from the institution. Clinical services and anesthesia fees will be handled separately.
  3. You must be accompanied by a responsible adult to leave the institution and may do so by private car or taxi.
  4. Of (2) hours after being performed surgery, start fluid intake as: water, aromatic drinks the moisturizing drinks. If tolerated, You can eat light foods as: broths, water juices, gelatin, chicken, grilled meat. Do not eat dairy (except children taking bottle who can work).
  5. During the first 24 hours after surgery should not drive car or operate dangerous machines requiring full concentration.
  6. The patient should be monitored by a responsible adult the first night after surgery.
  7. During the three (3) first days after being practiced surgery, do not drink alcohol and do not smoke.
  8. Do not stay in bed all the time because it favors the formation of clots in the legs and can be complicated by postoperative pulmonary embolism. Walk at home.

  10. If before the appointment you have fever control, persistent vomiting, severe pain, abnormal bleeding, suppuration, redness or odor at the site of the surgical wound, should notify your physician or go to the emergency service of the Cardiovascular Clinic.
